Olive bonsai

This olive is compact but full of character, built around a short, thick trunk with deeply fissured, flaking bark, the kind older olives develop over years outdoors. A gentle S-curve carries the trunk up to a light, open canopy of small, glossy leaves.

It's planted in a green ceramic pot with a scalloped, hand-worked texture that suits the tree's rustic feel.

Why this specimen

At this size, the trunk does most of the work: thick for the tree's height, with bark that already reads as old and weathered. That's not something you can rush with olive, it takes years outdoors for the bark to split and layer like this.
