Trident Maple forest bonsai

This is a forest planting of Trident Maple (Acer buergerianum). About eight trunks grow together over moss, with pink sandstone accent rocks, so the group reads as a small stand of woodland. The leaves are the three-lobed ones Trident Maple is known for, and the tree changes colour and drops its leaves in autumn. It is already planted in the ceramic pot shown.

The pot

The pot is a blue-grey glazed ceramic oval, 51 x 38 x H9 cm. A wide, shallow oval is the natural container for a forest planting, because it shows the whole group at once.
