Trident Maple forest bonsai

This is a forest planting of Trident Maple (Acer buergerianum). About seven trunks grow together over a deep moss carpet with grey slate rocks, so the group reads as a small stand of woodland. The leaves are the three-lobed ones Trident Maple is known for, and the tree changes colour and drops its leaves in autumn. It is already planted in the ceramic pot shown.

The pot

The pot is a dark blue-grey glazed ceramic oval, 51 x 35 x H9.5 cm. A wide, shallow oval is the natural container for a forest planting, because it shows the whole group at once.

About this specimen
